Vaccine Preventable Diseases
All children and staff members must show evidence of immunity or of immunization. In the event that one of these diseases is contracted by a child or a staff member, the Director will refer to the "Health in Day Care Manual" for pertinent information to share with parents.
Blood-Borne Diseases
For the protection of staff and children, blood spills and fecal matter will be cleaned up using latex gloves, disposable paper towels, soap and water followed by an E.P.A. registered sanitizing solution. Paper towels and gloves will be tripled bagged in plastic and disposed of as soon as possible in the outside trash can.
Procedures for Notifying Parents of the introduction of a communicable disease into the school
A written notice is sent to the parents of each child who may have been exposed. This is to be done as soon as possible after the exposure. Parents are requested to keep the director informed about exposures to contagious diseases outside of school.
