From The Director

We hope you enjoyed the field trip to Jane and Paul’s Farm in Norfolk.  It’s always exciting to ride on a school bus!  The children seemed to enjoy picking corn and their very own pumpkin.  The farm animals were very entertaining, especially the goats!  In previous years we have visited the Tougas Family Farm in Northborough.  This is the first time we have gone “local”, and we would very much appreciate your feedback.

We were pleased to have a good turn out for Parent Information Night last week.  We hope you enjoyed the presentations and opportunity to meet other parents; any feedback you would care to give would be much appreciated.  If you were unable to attend and would like the text of the presentations on social skills, the role of teachers, and the art process, please let me know.  I have attached an article about how to talk to your child about their artwork.  I hope you find it useful.

Before we know it, winter will be here!  Our inclement weather policy is detailed in your parent handbook.  Over the years we have found it very useful for the children to keep a pair of slippers here at school.  That way, you won’t have to remember to pack sneakers or slippers on the days that your child wears rain or snow boots.  These also come in handy if your child’s shoes get wet at the water table.  If you choose to send in a pair of slippers, please mark them clearly with your child’s name.

It has come to our attention that the Salvation Army is in desperate need of clothing.  If you would like to donate used clothing (in good condition), please feel free to send items in a clearly marked bag with your child.  You may also bring such items to the parent coffees on October 24 and 25.

Do you know of anyone who would be willing to donate a household toilet?  Every year, we have several children who are intimidated by the “industrial” toilet in our bathroom.  We would love to install a “regular” toilet!  We would prefer a white one, but would certainly consider other colors!  Miss Kelly has taken steps to make our bathroom more “home-like” by adding colorful curtains and a skirt around the sink.  She has also volunteered to paint the bathroom a lovely turquoise color to match!  Thank you, Miss Kelly!

Miss Cathy
